5. Analytical tools and advertising

Matomo (formerly Piwik)

This website uses Matomo, an open-source web analysis service. Matomo uses technologies (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting) that enable users to be recognised on various pages of the website, allowing their user behaviour to be analysed. The information collected by Matomo on your use of this website will be saved on our server. Your IP address will be anonymised beforehand.

Matomo enables us to collect and analyse data on the use of our website by visitors. For example, we can find out when each of our pages has been viewed and from which region. We also create various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer URL, browser and operating system) and can see whether visitors have performed certain actions on our website (e.g. clicks, purchases).

This analytical tool is used on the basis of point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymous analysis of user behaviour to optimise both its website and advertising. If you are asked to consent (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), your personal data will be processed exclusively on the basis of point (a) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR; you may revoke your consent at any time.

Hosting

As Matomo is hosted exclusively on our own servers, all analytical data remains with us and is not passed on to third parties.
